Five Ios and Android Games That Will Get You Addicted!
JC talks about the top five farming games on the app store.
Farming games are probably the most addictive archetype of game on the app store. I don’t really know what makes them popular. They all have the same concept:
- Load the whole game at the start
- Have 2 currencies: one regular and one premium
- Take real time to make structures
- Land expansion
- Organization of characters/structures/decorations
- Share farms on Facebook, Send gifts to friends
See? They’re all the same, but even if this is so, 5 of them are ranked very high on the top grossing page of the app store. Comment below if you like these kinds of games. My guess is: people like playing God. These games are definitely for the obsessive type gamers.
Top1: Smurfs’ Village

- 1st on the top grossing page of the app store
- 12326 ratings, an average of 5 stars
- Offline Play
Smurfs’ come out on top in the app store. I guess it’s their mystifying blueness. The Smurfs’ village was discovered and they were captured. Luckily, they escaped. The Smurfs are now scattered across the forest and you have to build a new village to get them back. This is definitely a buff game. It has a lot of mini games that can give you extra experience points. There is a daily reward system that allows you to get the premium currency (Smurf berries).

Top4: DragonVale

- 4th on the top grossing page of the app store
- 765 ratings, an average of 4.5 stars
- Online Play
I have been playing this game for a while now. I’m a big fan of dragons
. You can make your very own dragon theme park. You can breed, raise, and evolve dragons. Each dragon has its own earning rate and story. You have a customer counter to check how attractive your farm is. Hybrid dragons cost premium currency (gems), but you can breed them. The premium currency can be obtained by gifting friends or by entering your dragons in the coliseum.

Top7: Tiny MonstersTM

- 7th on the top grossing page of the app store
- 12 ratings, an average of 4 stars
- Online Play
This is just like DragonVale, except with monsters. Meh, I’m not a big fan. I just wonder how it got ranked this high. The games below have even better stats.

Top14: Snoopy’s Street Fair

- 14th on the top grossing page of the app store
- 259 ratings, an average of 4.5 stars
- Offline Play
Snoopy owns farming games. The motivation of the game revolves around getting Charlie Brown enough money so that he can afford baseball uniforms for his team. He then starts a street fair and invites his friends to help raise money. The game is rich with extras: collectable comic strips, cards, music and characters. It has a unique art style and the music is really catchy. Mini-games can be purchased from the store. This is definitely a game that I could get addicted to. The only thorn in this rose is the premium currency can only be obtained by leveling up. This means the amount you get is limited. L

Top19: Tap Paradise Cove

- 19th on the top grossing page of the app store
- 178 ratings, an average of 4.5 stars
- Online Play
Tap Paradise cove is a huge adventure. You start by making houses, merchants and ships. Then you explore. The more you expand, the more you are able to explore. There is always a goal to reach whether it is to explore an unknown region or to go to a specific location. The good things about this game are: PVP, get premium currency by exploring, ships and voyages. These elements add something unique to the farming experience. The only thing that really ticks me off is the energy system that they have. The limit to action really turns me off to this otherwise jewel of a game.
